Nigerian social media personality Gehgeh has criticised comedian Real Warri Pikin following the controversy surrounding her viral stage appearance with singer Timaya.

The controversy began after a video from the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, Texas, showed Real Warri Pikin joining Timaya on stage during his performance of his hit song “Ukwu”. During the performance, Timaya lifted the comedian off the ground, leading to widespread reactions online.

Gehgeh described the situation as a “direct attack on your husband’s ego” and called on Real Warri Pikin to remove the controversial video from her social media platforms and apologise to Nigerians.

He also gave the comedian a 24-hour period to take down the video, while stating that he would continue speaking about the matter if her husband did not publicly address it.

The comedian explained that she had been backstage watching Timaya perform when he invited a woman to join him on stage. She said she went on stage without knowing that Timaya intended to lift her during the performance.

Real Warri Pikin later apologised to her husband, Ikechukwu Asuoha, and to people who were offended by the incident. She also acknowledged that her husband was unhappy about what happened.

“I take full responsibility for my actions.”

According to reports, Real Warri Pikin said she initially hesitated when Timaya attempted to lift her but eventually went along with the performance after he asked her not to spoil his performance.
